Careless Whisper

Yesterday I was running from the time I got up, until I crashed at 1 am.  It was not in vain though.  Before I left the house I, made dinner, baked a cake, answered email etc, then took a load of stuff to the Goodwill, sold a big box of books to Half Price Books, bought Kaleb some shorts, picked up a yummy German dinner, picked up my mom and took her home, went to the bank, bought fruit for fruit salad, came back and made a fruit salad, cut up stuff for German potato salad, came HOME made Ryan dinner(he is NOT a fan of German weiswurst and pretzel rolls), went back over to my mom’s, Hugged my Uncle, mixed the potato salad, gave my Oma dinner and medicines and finally plopped in the closet chair and sat down.  There were several other things, but that is the main jist.  I’m just happy everyone is home and where they should be!

OH and while I was running around I heard this song:

I heard the opening cords and was like HEY I know this song.  Fantastic!  Does this make anyone else happy?  It should!

Baby Ballroom

So I am watching this show called Baby Ballroom.  The name of the show is not so accurate as these kiddos are under 11.  That is by no means a baby, but I digress.  The point of this post?  Well there are two, actually.  I wished I had taken ballroom instead of ballet.  I LOVED ballet, I really did, but ballroom dancers seem like they get to have a little more fun.  Second?  Well Kaleb who is also watching, is jumping around going “MOMMY did you see that?”  “MOMMY!!! I WANT TO DO THAT” “MOMMY, watch me!  See I can do that!!!”  “MOMMY! Watch! See?? *CRASH* (he spun into the coffee table) I’m OK!!”  I have seen him this excited about two things in his life.  ALL four years, lol.  First was the Wiggles.  Man that boy loved his Wiggles.  The second is the Space Needle.  He wants to be the president of the Space Needle, you know.  I wonder how long this ballroom thing will last…Did I mention he is dancing dressed up like GI Joe?  I think it’s delightful.  Ryan looks worried.

Ice…is…slippery…

Duh.  I slipped today and KIND OF did the splits.  My inner thigh hurts a little, but aside from that I’m fine.  I was too busy laughing at myself to notice at first and my first attempt at getting up resulted in my sliding a little more.  I’m sure it was very funny to watch.  In fact I could have sworn that the people in the car that drove past were laughing.  Katie held on to me because really?  I’m NOT an all terrain Laini.

We headed into Tacoma when our power went off.  We were all a little stir crazy and the outing was nice.  You could tell that it had been a while since either of us had been around people since we acted like a my kids after they have red dye 40 (pretty much jazzed out of their brains, it’s crazy)  I would like to mention that the power went off JUST as I decided that I was going to make the caramel popcorn to go in the gift baskets.  Super.  So another day behind on those.  On a totally NON related subject,  I did get a fantastic shot of a very cold palm tree.

Silly.  While we waited, we made sugar cookies to decorate tomorrow at the Christmas party.  The kids talked to Richard.  I dried some diapers, well the dryer dried them, but you know… OH Katie got new tires!  So we were really waiting on both those things.  My power to come back on and her car to be done.  I got my call before she did 🙂  It was funny, when Katie went to pick up her car I noticed Kaleb standing by her computer.  When I asked what he was doing he replied:

K: I don’t want to miss my SHOW!

Me: What show?

K: This one (pointing to the computer)

I finally figured out that he was waiting for Richard to come back on the web cam.  Ok.  Weirdo.  Later when they (Katie and Ryan) got back and turned the web cam back on, Mr. Kaleb was very excited to have his show back on.  They spent some time making faces back and forth to h  while arguing who lived where in the Space Needle.  Kaleb lives on top, Richard lives in the gift shop.  They are NOT roommates.

I am happy to be home WITH power!  Tomorrow will be filled with baking AND finishing up my tree.  It looks so fantastic I could squeal a little.  Lilli is absolutely in love with it.  She spent a good five minutes staring at it when we got home.  When she turned around and looked at me she said “It’s sooo beautiful.  It’s pink.  It’s MY favorite”  She did a little pirouette and ran off.

it is so beautiful, pink, and it’s my favorite too.

Coffee Free Day 3

Heehee the title rhymed 🙂  Had another late night, but it was still fun.  I had settled into bed with New Moon when the phone rang.  Katie needed a Shari’s run.  So we headed out and had the sweetest waitress Roxanne.  Needless to say, by the time I got home it took me about 2 seconds of hitting the pillow before I was out.  I woke up this morning and the first thing I noticed was that my leg was asleep.  Yeah, Lilli had climbed into bed sometime during the night or morning and fell asleep on my leg.  While I was trying to get back to get some feeling back inn my leg, my phone made a funny noise.  I had to look around for the noise.  Turns out I had finally figured out how to get my phone to make noise when I get a text.  Yay me.  It’s an annoying noise though, so I just turned it back off.  I love it when that happens.  I got up feeling pretty good though.  No headache which I was thankful for.  Skipped the tea this morning and just sat down and read a little bit.  Did my normal bevy of activities: cleaned the kitchen, did a load of laundry, talking on the phone and reading some more 🙂  I think I am just feeling tired from my late night and not the lack of coffee in my system.  I am also proud to say that I am not grumpy! When Ryan came home today he had brought some flowers home!  It was very sweet.  Don’t you love it when people bring presents to you?  Yeah me too.

If you notice some words a different color they aren’t links.  I stole it from Katie 🙂  It’s silly.

On my mind

In an effort to take my one picture a day, I looked around and realized there were so many things that remind me of someone.  I’m not going to say which picture is who though.

A few things on my mind.  In no particular order:

Rain, a secret, friends, Ryan not switching shifts, a phone call, texting, baths, pumkin pie, camera straps, a song, butterflies, Target, a tattoo, a thought, laughing, nerves, a walk, cell phone plans, a promise.

You’re lucky…

Ryan that is.  He’s lucky that I didn’t beat the crap out of him for touching my camera(that’s just a BIG no no).  The only reason was becuase he got a couple of cute pictures.  Still, DON’T TOUCH!  Anyway, I thought I would share 🙂

fix

Then I tried to get it back…

fix2

AND  then because of the lens, he got a really close one.  I kind of dig it.

Hey! There Was Sun!

Yesterday was so nice out here and a nice break from the grey that we have been having.  We slept in and then got ready to head to Alex’s soccer game.  Although I hate going ot them.  In my defense he ALWAYS gets hurt when I go.  Yesterday was no exception, as he got a nice kick to the HEAD.  Ugh, plus the fact that all you can do is sit there and hope that he gets up.  Lilli loves going to games and has been going the past couple of weeks with Tricia to everyone’s games  Kaleb has no intrest.  At all.  Oh well.  I did get some cute pictures!  I couldn’t figure out why I was getting some crappy shots and noticed that the camera was on full auto.  Duh.  I need to tweak with one of the photos a little bit, but I don’t feel like it at the moment 🙂

Auto focus.  Bleagh.

MUCH better 🙂

Ready?

GO!

Harbor Power!

AND, I finally got the adapter to get the pictures off my phone!  Lame, but it’s true.  So I thought I’d share some of my fun 🙂

Well, if you say so!

and last, but ot least:

Let Them Eat Cake Part Duex.

Actually this should be part one, but oh well.  So the start of Katie’s Birthday was spent out on the Harbor.  Katie and Richard headed over to my house to pick me up.  We loaded into my car and stopped in at Target with three lists.  After that it was a hunt for food and after tossing up suggestions we decided on Spiro’s.  I yet to get a picture of the place and I did have my camera, but I had my priorities!  The waiter was crazy nice and everything he brought Katie was her “Birthday” whatever the item was.  It was silly.  Apparently when you go to Spiro’s on your birthday you get free ice cream.  It was the ice cream that brought on Richard’s bright idea of shoving the remaining  ice cream in his mouth.  Ready?  Your head is going to hurt just looking at the pics.

Yeah, my teeth hurt too.  Ow.  After he recovered, I got the cutest picture of the two of them.  See?  Aw!

After the resturaunt.  We headed over to Jerisch Dock to take some more pictures or the boats and the kids looked for fish in the water.  I got this great picture of the birthday girl.  It’s my favorite so far that I have of her.  See her tiara?  Awesome!

I also got some great shots of the kids.  Lilli dressed herself and it was very Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face, topped off with her bat ears from her costume, oh and the hot pink converse with white polka dots that I found in Hawaii.

Kaleb just had so much fun running around in the rain and hail.

And looking at charts with Richard.

Later we headed over to Katie’s house for her party.  Yummy food as per the last post.  Here’s my family enjoying the party.

All in all it was a nice day.  I hope Katie had a happy birthday and fun at her concert!

That Will Do Pig, That Will Do.

Well I had a nice list going today and I’m proud to say that I got a lot of things done!  Yay me!  Wanna know what I got done?  Of course you do 😉

Clean up kitchen

Do at least 2 loads of laundry (wash, fold and put away)

Vacuum downstairs

Locate the giant inflatable pumpkin

Get out the box of Halloween decorations

Finish cutting and start sewing the head of Kaleb’s yellow alligator costume (don’t ask) Got the pattern cut out and started to cut out the head.

Sew both kid’s trick or treat bags

Make dinner (Meat loaf, mashed potatoes and green beans

Snuggle in with Ryan after the kiddos go to bed. Well we are snuggling on the couch and will move upstairs in a minute.

Katie came over to use my sewing machine.  She spent her morning at the DOL getting her license renewed(There was a screw up the last time and it only renewed for 2 years.  LAME)  her alternator went out and luckily it was still under warranty since it was under a year.  We spent the day making a dog bed for Chloe.  Her pattern sicked and we came up with a MUCH better one in my opinion.  I will post pictures after tomorrow since she wants it to be a surprise for Richard tomorrow.  I love it and I want one for myself, even though I don’t have a dog.  By the time we finished that up I was no longer in the mood to sew the trick or treat bags and then Ryan came home shortly after that.  I did get all the pieces to Kaleb’s pattern cut out and all the little pieces really make me want to cry.  A lot.  It’s ok, he’ll love it and I will hold onto it forever for him.  Still have no idea where the heck the inflatable pumpkin is though, but I have an idea of which tote it might be in.  Ryan will have to move a few things for me.  The Halloween decoration box is right out in front so that was easy.  Tomorrow I am making the cake for Thursday.  I’m excited!  While I would love to do it professionally, I really enjoy making these cakes for the ones I love.  OK off to snuggle upstairs!

My Husband Is So Hot.

Just for the record, I need it out there on the internet.  Laini thinks her husband is hot 😉  There, forever on the internets.  We have spent the day being lazy and kid free.  It’s windy and a little drizzly out.  After a nap we decided to go for a walk.  A walk turned into driving to the Purdy Spit and walking along the water.  Yeah, NOT the best ideas that we have had.  It was really windy and my ears feel like they are going to bleed, but I got some great pictures so I don’t mind.  With the way I am going, I’m going to have to upgrade my photo space on here 🙂

Stormy day.

It’s ok, I wore boots!

See, it was WINDY!

He kept warm by throwing rocks.

Drawing in the sand.

Throwing sticks.

So why do I think my husband is so hot?  Yeah, ’cause I get to look at this.  Big puddle of Laini.

What I find is funny, is that I got a better picture with my Canon than I got last night with the small point and shoot.  Go figure.

And just because I can.  I Kinneared Ryan again.

Some of my treasures from the walk.  Or as Ryan said the blow job from Mother Nature.  Nice.
