La, la, la, la!

Every time I hear this song it makes me want to dance.  I heard it on the way back home tonight and I was so happy to get a red light so I could car dance my heart out.  Oh and I did.  The person next to me laughed and shook his head, but you know he was jealous.  Also I am aggravated that it is so hard to find good videos on Youtube anymore.  I’m just saying.  I love jumping around my kitchen singing “Going crazy since the moment I met you!”  I dunno…that’s how I roll 🙂

I car danced to Ace of Base today.

Just in case anyone was wondering.  I also made a skirt.  I think I am going to take out the zipper that I put in and replace it with an invisible one.  I’m not really feeling this one.  I’ll get action shots after I do that, but here it is.  I think my floor enjoys wearing it.

Fantastico!  I had a different fabric in my hand, but then this one caught my eye.  It’s pretty much love.

TAKE!

Yesterday was an unusual day.  I don’t think I have even wrapped my mind around it yet.  I was woken up much earlier than I can handle.  Hit with something and was unable to fall back asleep, so I gave up and just got up.  Figured I would sit at the computer, drink some coffee and chill a little.  Or you know, not…although that left me with a little more completion.  I ended up just needing to get out of the house.  I needed to take some books back to the library and since Katie hasn’t been able to get a card yet, I figured she would like to browse with me.  It took me a lot longer to find books than it usually does.  I would pick something up, read a word and set it down.  I don’t really know what I was looking for, and I found myself getting really frustrated.  I ended up getting two books though.  Although I couldn’t tell you what they are about…We had also stopped at Target where I found some bamboo sheets on clearance.  They were marked down from 99 to 24!  When I got home I had flowers waiting for me, from a friend.  They are really pretty.  Thank you.  I fell asleep a little restless and woke up feeling a bit jittery.  I’m going to sew something today and get some of this energy out.  This will require a run to the fabric store though since I have no zippers.  It’s ok, Katie called to inform me that patterns were on sale.  I have a date next Sunday at the fabric store, but when I’m looking for patterns I need to be able to sit and look over things in peace.  When I get home I’m going to lock myself in the craft room and sew until I have something to show.  I need to save up for a dress form.  I wonder if I can get someone to wrap me in tape to help me make one…

My soul is evaporating…

Sigh.  I don’t even know what you want me to say…and just for the record.  You are THREE hours ahead of me.

Meme Me!

I got tagged by Tanya, so here goes!

1. Have you ever been on TV?
Hmmm not that I know of.

2. Have you ever sung in public?
Oh yea, lots of times.  Aside from school plays I did musicals outside of school as well.  I was in choir  too!

3. Have you ever dyed your hair blond?
No.  I would never do that either.  My hair is way to dark and it would look awful if it would even get past the orange stage.  I am going to have to get a lot of the color out though since I am dying the underside purple.

4. Have you ever eaten frogs’ legs?
Nope.  I won’t either.

5. Have you ever received a present that you really hated?

Nothing stands out.  I don’t think that I have ever hated something, more just wondered why someone would get me it in the first place.

6. Have you ever walked into a lamp post?
No, but I have pretty much walked into everything else.

7. Have you ever cooked a meal by yourself for more than 15 people?
No, I have always had help.  I was always the one helping cook holiday meals growing up.  My family is huge.

8. Have you ever fallen or stumbled in front of others?
I am not an all terrain Laini.  I trip over air.  Once I jumped off three stairs when Ryan and I were dating and fell so hard.  It was a special moment.

9. Have you ever done volunteer work?
I have and I would love to do more.

I tag:

Katie

Why I love Stumble Upon!

Aside from the obvious reason(the one where it’s totally addicting) is that for some reason a stumble will always lead me to something even better.  For instance.  I just hit my stumble button and it took me to Craftster.  Which I love and am a member off, but off to the side something caught my attention.  It was a little flashing banner for RENT.  I looked closer and it read: Celebrate the end of an Era!  Filmed live on Broadway!!!  I love RENT so I click on the banner.  The site starts playing No day but Today.  Awesome.  I scroll down to see how much this dvd is and something catches my eye AGAIN. In very small print it read:

Don’t miss RENT: The Broadway Tour, featuring original Broadway cast members
ADAM PASCAL and ANTHONY RAPP coming to a city near you!

The cast also includes final Broadway cast members Gwen Stewart, Justin Johnston, Michael McElroy, and Telly Leung, who can
also be seen in the RENT: FILMED LIVED ON BROADWAY DVD. For tickets and more information, visit www.siteforrent.com.

HOLY FLIP!  So I call Katie,  obviously, and leave her a message which was something like:  “OMG…Stumble…RENT with Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal…OMG call me back…June..K call me!”

Oh I’m so excited.  I could pee.  Except I won’t  AHH!

You might be a Coast Guard Spouse…

Someone sent this to me and it made me smile.  Although that part of my life is long over, it still rings true.

You might be
a Coast Guard Spouse if……..

You remember
milestones by location, not year…..

Your kitchen
is a galley…..

Many
conversations start with, “when we lived in…”….

You have
friends scattered from
….Alaska…. to ..Puerto Rico..…..

Your
northern and southern accents blend together so no matter where you live,
people say, “You’re not from here are you?”….

Your 3 year
old looks at you and says, “I don’t like this anymore. Can we move?”….

Your
children believe that Santa Claus comes by boat or helicopter-not by sleigh…..

You’re the
only spouse in the neighborhood who always mows the lawn…..

You know
your spouse’s social security number better than your own…..

You have
more books in boxes than on the bookshelves…..

Your spouse
has been home for a while and is getting on your nerves. You look at your watch
and say, “isn’t it time for you to get underway again?”….

Your ironing
board has at least four stickers from different moving companies on it…..

Your
driver’s license is from
….Maine…., your license plates are from ….Florida…. and you’re living in ….Texas….…..

You have no
problem moving every few years with three kids, a great dane, two hamsters, and
two rabbits in a minivan…..

TAKE! These broken WINGS!

Oy!  That song has been stuck in my head for days now.  It really doesn’t help that once I am not thinking about it some one will start singing it.  Take this morning for instance.  I had yet to really think about music this morning.  I log onto Facebook and BAM.  SOMEONE posted a the video.  Thanks for that.  From the bottom of my ass.

Last night was so silly.  I got a text from Sasa asking if I wanted to go to work with her.  Thinking she was being silly, I replied Always, or something like that.  She was serious.  I guess so was I.  So we drove into her office and I kept her company while she finished up some paper work.  We ended up being there for 3 hours or so, but it really didn’t feel that long.  I played around on my computer and then dug around in her new bag.  Which by the way, I’m sure I could sit in.  It’s huge.  I found a book.  A fantastic book.  A book that I wish I didn’t have to put back in the bag when we were leaving.

After she was all done and I was full of these delightful cinnamon gummy heart things, we went on the search for SODA.  Then?  Then we listened to music.  Fantastic music that took us back to different times in our lives.  Mest and Good Charlotte, oh baby!  It will forever remind me of road trips and Nantucket.  By the time we got to my house we didn’t want to get out of the car.  It’s the spell of the music and neither of us wanted to break the spell.  Shari’s RUN!  More music and enough decaf, that probably translated into a decent amount of caffeine, we headed back home.  It was a good night my friends.

Put a banana in your ear!

The title has nothing to do with this post at all, it’s just been stuck in my head all day.  LOL.  I keep spouting out random Charlie-isms all day.  Apparently purging makes me a little crazy.  After tripping over what seemed like the same toy that I had sworn I picked up, for the 84 millionth time, I am purging.  I had an insane urge to back the truck up to a window and just start throwing stuff in.  I’m not joking.  Where does all this crap come from?  Is it sneaking into closets and procreating?  I am starting in the play room.  I will be posting pictures of each room after it is finished.  If you know of any kids that need some toys let me know.  I have enough in the house to supply a small country.  I wish I was kidding….
